It depends on what router the old one is. It helps to post the manufacturer & model of the old router you are having problems with.

Again, what is the manufacturer & model of the routers. That includes your old one. Open up a command window and type in (without quotes) "netsh wlan show all". Copy the results and post them to a post in this thread.

You are showing 28% signal strength which isn't very good. Are you saying your friends computer connects to the same router with 5 bars strength? If so, I would have to say there is a problem with the adapter in your laptop.

You could try this but I doubt it will help:

Click Start > All Programs > Accessories, right-click on Command Prompt and choose Run as administrator. Windows 8 users press [Windows Key] + [X] and select Command Prompt (Admin).
At the command prompt type: netsh winsock reset catalog and press [Enter].
Next type: netsh int ip reset reset.log and press [Enter].
Restart your PC for the changes to take effect.

Nothing can be done if you are getting low signal strength from the WiFi access point. Also do not post screenshots of the Command window. You have to right click on the top bar, choose "Select all", then "Copy", then paste what you copied into a post. Some of us have images turned off, to save on bandwidth, when not on our home wifi.
