Can you clarify as to what your trying to do? I understand your trying to change your IP Address? If so are you wanting to refresh your DHCP IP or go to a Static IP?

If you mean the IP that the rest of the internet sees then you can't. You will have to contact your ISP and they or may not change it - perhaps with a charge.

Nominally I have don't have a static IP but they haven't changed it for 4 years.

If your trying to renew your IP Address try ipconfig /renew and see if that works for you.

I have exceeded bandwidth for the hotel that I steal wi fi from. I was thinking perhaps I could change my IP address so that I can get around this problem. I cannot connect to the hotel wi fi right now. I figure it is because I used too much data.

Changing your IP Address won't help you there because your adapter's MAC address I believe is stored on the hotel server or something like that. I can't really help you there man sorry.

Ummm that's something I haven't ever done I hear it can be done but not without the risk of breaking your adapter. Maybe someone else here could possibly answer that question but chances are you won't be able to. Again sorry!
