Windows 8.1 tile apps, no issues on desktop, give me Internet connection errors. Apps like euronews say that I am not connected to the Internet and I am. I also get "internal error" on other apps. Anyone can help?

You may want to try Stardock Software's Metro Mix. It will allow you to run Metro Apps from the desktop. The problem with Metro. Is that it uses a mix of Javascript & html5. A lot of apps in the Microsoft App store are poorly written. So in turn, you have issues.

Some have found that the problem is also as simple as the third party Internet Security or Firewall software that they may be using. See metro apps can not connect to internet! for further help.

Thanks for your reply broe23
, will give ModernMix a shot. Just wondering if anyone out there can install Euronews and see if it gives any errors. On my side, it is giving errors on ALL my Windows 8.1 devices. Wondering now if there is any relation between the errors I get and my Microsoft account that somehow breaks something.

Then it is an issue is mos likely with shoddy programming for the Metro app. This is the official app for Euronews. Official Euronews App for Windows 8 Released in the Windows Store Still need to know if you are using any third party Internet security software. What kind of connection you are using to connect (Public Hotspot, or personal Wifi LAN). If it is your own Internet connection. Who is your ISP and what gateway/router are you using.

Thanks, I guess you are right as only a few apps are not working properly. Will wait for updates to the buggy apps.

You most likely will never see updates to them. Again, what if any third party Internet security software are you using? If you are using any. Try disabling that software and see if it resolves the issue.

Also rebooting the router can clear its IP Table & DNS cache. Which may also fix the issue. But due to Microsoft App's are something that they moved from the phone interface over to the tablet and computer. You are going to run into issues on some apps in the app store.

I think Microsoft needs to clean up the app store and not worry about getting more apps so they can "compete" with other platforms.

Thanks for your time.

That will never happen. That is the least of their worries.
