LAN Proxy settings keep changing - Windows 8.1

Something keeps changing my proxy settings.
Every time I change it to "Automatically detect settings", something is changing it to "Use a proxy server for your LAN..."

I have ran several virus and adware scanners and found nothing.

    Any help appreciated.

Download Speccy from http://speccy.piriform.com/ post the URL that you get after you are finished running Speccy. That will allow us to see what programs you are running, which may show the culprit. Another program you can run is minitoolbox from MiniToolBox Download Check all boxes but List Devices, Users, Minidump and paste the results.txt file in a post.

One program you can also use to reset network settings is Farbar's Service Scanner. Check all boxes and then run the tool. It should hopefully clear things. If still having issues. I think I am infected with PUM.PROXY.
I had RogueKillerX64 remove it, but it keeps coming back and I can't figure out how I got infected in the first place.

Follow the Malware guide I posted. You may have to run MBam & Eset a couple of times to clear everything. Then run Farbar's Minitoolbox & Recovery Scanner tool at the end, to finish the clean up. I always go through and check the Run & Runonce entries in the Registry for User & Local computer, just to make sure there is nothing stray in those areas.

I went through your guide (great job, btw) but I still have the problem.

Eset found the most crap and I removed what it found.

I still can't get it to stay on "Automatically detect settings..."

Try completely uninstalling all network drivers, including any Bluetooth ones. Then reinstall the drivers. See if that fixes it. That guide has been worked on for a long time. It is probably one of the best ones out there. Since it is written at a level that all can understand.

Nothing worked. Looks like I'm going to have to re-install Windows.

No you do not need to re-install Windows. You are overlooking something. I did a quick search on this issue. Some people are stating that apps are doing it. Pull up Events and see if there is anything in there.

    Still have the problem.

    Things I've noticed:
The Windows Store won't connect, but I don't use it anyhow.
Google Music Manager won't connect, I do use that.
I have a school email address that I access through Outlook. It doesn't work anymore.

IE & Chrome have problems loading some videos and some web pages.
I switched to Firefox, since it has it's own proxy settings and it's been working well.

I'm going to live with it for awhile in case I can fix the problem.

Go through the info I posted. The problem can be fixed. But you need to follow all of the steps that have been listed, to figure out what is causing this. Reinstalling the OS is just going to bring back the issue.
