Windows 8 Network problem trough extender

I am using the internet from my neighbor who lives above us.
I am also using an extender to get 100% signal strenght.

I have admin rights on his main router so I can change some settings if it's necessary.
My main problem is my new windows 8 desktop.
I'm using wireless connection on all of my Pc's and phones but only my windows 8 have problems staying connected. Normally it just dropped out every few hours and I had to restart either my pc or the extender to get internet connection again. I couldn't find a solution for that problem so I just lived with it but the last days it was that bad that it dropped the internet connection after 10-20 seconds.

I tried to get a stable connection in Safe Mode but there I had the same problem.

Right now I am using my phone to write this thread.

I also tried updating everything but still nothing.

I also tried all of those cmd commands, but none of them worked.

it's my first time in a forum so if I forgot something just tell me and I will gather all the information that's necessary.

I am sorry I am not that good in english, english is my 3. language so I still have some problems

oh and just a small question, my windows 8 pc don't recognize an internet connection when I have under ~60% signal ( that is why I use an extender)
all of my other products are working fine, even when I have around 10% signal I still have a stable internet connection on my phone. so I was wondering why it's like that?my other desktop and the 2 laptops ( all of them have windows 7) are working completely fine, no matter if I connect directly to the main router and get around 40-50% or if I use the extender and get 90-100%. My extender have around 80% signal to the main router.

Too far from your neighbor. The only way to get a good connection, is if you both have antennas on the outside of your homes and "Bridging" the connection between the homes with Wireless Access Points set up in both homes as Bridges. Then you might get a good Wifi connection.

Or just go out and purchase your own Internet. Which would be cheaper than paying for hardware that costs more up front, than just paying monthly for your own personal Internet Connection. The bad thing about sharing Internet with someone. Is that they are able to go into your computer and look at files, pull private information through packet sniffing, etc..

But how can it be to far if I get around 90% Signal? It almost couldn't be better.

Yes I know they could look trough my computer but I trust them, they could be my grandparents so I don't think they are interested in something like this haha

The internet I get from them is free, that's why I don't want to use money for an extra internet just for our selv.

And like I said, only my Windows 8 have problems staying connected, my other Pc and phones have a stable connection and it's good enough to use Internet TV.

Every device is going to have its problems. One may be better at handling noise and keeping a good wifi connection through CRC checking. While another one fails. You could try a USB adapter like the Netgear A6200 Wifi adapter or the newer version which is the A6210. Both have an antenna that can be turned, along with the adapter comes with a desktop stand. We had to get one for my son to use at school. He had no problems at our house using his built in wifi. But due to his school is basically Concrete block, with steel rebar in the ceilings and floors, it cuts down on penetration for the wifi signal. After we got him the Netgear A6200. He has had no problems keeping a good signal with very little error rate.

I already have two different adapters.
And just now I encountered a different problem. . it seems like my extender or pc is blocking my the connection from my pc to the extender.
When I reset the extender I can acess it and configure it with my PC, but as soon as I connect the extender to the router, I am not able to acess the router anymore.

But like before, with all my other phones/pc's I can normally acess and use the extender.

axses, can you post a bit about what hardware you're using, more specifically the network materials?

The wlan adapers for my Windows 8 Pc are a D-Link Go-USB N150 and I also tried Netgear WG111v2.
Both of them work normally.
My extender: TP-Link WA854RE

I am not able to get on my PC right now because I am on my way to the cinema

Out of curiosity, is this wifi network used by different speed devices (b/g/n(150/300))?

I have a laptop that had a very similar issue, it would not connect to the 802.11n network but dropping the netowrk to 802.11g fixed the issue. Now the router AND the device claimed to be 802.11n/W8 ready, but in this case someone is embellishing just a touch. The router works just fine in 802.11n mode with a number of other devices, so I can only assume it is the wifi adapter in the laptop. It is also worth nothing that this same laptop connected just fine to the very same 802.11n network with W7 on it.

Perhaps you are being bitten by a similar issue.

You would have to check with the chipset manufacturer to find out what speed your wifi adapter can do. The router and extender should say on them or be pulled up online via the part number. The extender is showing as a 300n adapter.

But if that's the problem than it would be pretty weird, since it worked 3 days before just fine...

Open up a command window and enter (without quotes) "netsh wlan show all".

looks like all of them uses 802.11n

Without any further diagnostic information. There is no way to figure this out. If I had to take an educated guess. Your neighbor has dialed down the power of their Wifi Access Point, to keep people off of it.

I can access the router directly ( not trough the extender ) but there is the problem like I wrote at the beginning, I have no internet when the signal is under 60%. and I have no **** idea why it's like that.
My other desktop pc with windows 7 have internet connection when it's even under 20% and it's still stable.
I really don't know why windows 8 is like that, that it just drop the Internet when the signal is under 60%..

Hm.. another thing I noticed is, when I'm connected to the extender and I can't use the internet, Windows 8 still shows me I have an interner connection and troubleshooting only tells me everything is fine, however, when I try to open youtube, Google, etc. I can see on the left down button what it tries to load, and it always stops when it says " can't establish a secure network " or something like that.

I also can't use windows update because then it shows me I have no Internet. . . .

So I have an internet connection but I can't use it?
and like always, I only have this problem when I try connecting trough my extender.
4-5 days before it worked just fine and I haven't installed something since then..
