My internet  started doing this about a 3 weeks ago, and I have no idea why. I tried everything I could think of from DNS flush to updating the driver, but to no avail.

Sounds like an odd issue here... can you be a little more specific when you say "Google related websites" please?

It honestly sounds like a virus to me as I have never heard of this happening besides maybe a tcip/ip issue but I don't believe this is what the problem is.

Please download this and transfer to the computer in question

https://www.malwarebytes.org/antirootkit/

After that if nothing is found please download malwarebytes from here

Do scans for each and report back any findings.

Something may be changing the Hosts file, or changed the registry settings. I would download Speccy from Majorgeeks.com and run it, and post the URL you get from the output.

What I mean is it will only load Google , YouTube , Google drive, G-mail, etc. "Google websites". I can type in Google.com and search, but after i click on a link unless it's mentioned above it will not load the page(s).

Have you installed any programs from a torrent site anytime since this started happening?

It is also possible as he said that the hosts file has been changed. If you use something like revo uninstaller to uninstall your chrome/firefox browsers and then reinstall them directly from the google site what happens then? Does the same affect happen after you reboot?

(1) Click START > RUN > and type in "C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts"
(2) When prompted, open the HOSTS file in either Notepad or Wordpad
(3) Delete all the lines of IP addresses in the text document except for "127.0.0.1 localhost".

No I haven't actually. Will do uninstall/reinstall/reboot. Then check my host file. Thanks I really do appreciate you guys trying to help find a solution to my problem. Going to try this will report back later.

Try running the following Farbar tool. MiniToolBox Download Just check the following boxes: Flush DNS, Reset IE Proxy Settings, Reset FF Proxy Settings (only if FF is installed), List content of Hosts, List IP Configuration, List Winsock entries.

Post the results of the Report.txt file that you get after it runs. Run the program from the Desktop, not from metro or the Download folder.

FIXED IT! I think?

Quick question before I try that. Could TCP/IPV4 have anything to do with the issues? Because though there was nothing there it was set to use a manually entered IP address and DNS server. I changed the settings to automatic refreshed the browser and that is how I am using the internet right now. :DQuestion is this temporary? :cry:I hope not!:dinesh:

You need to run the tools in the google redirect link that I posted. Forget everything else at this moment.

Lets try doing some checking for possible infections. Before worrying about the IP stack.

That is why I posted both links from Majorgeeks. Last machine that I worked on, that was really infected. It took me a total of two days. It was off and on work, due to being that it was my in-laws computer. I had to run MBam twice and also do the same with Eset.

I also went through and used the Farbar Minitoolbox and also FRST & Service Scanner. At the end, the machine was squeaky clean with no infections. I did go into the registry and have to remove some items out of Local Computer & User registry sections from the Run & RunOnce, that did not get removed.

Here is the list of Farbar's tools. Searching for farbar

So you know and I'm not try to be rude in anyway broe23. I'm no computer dummy, though I'm no computer wiz either , but pretty sure you know more than I do. But I do know that this computer hasn't had any viruses, malware, spyware etc because I make sure of it. It isn't and wasn't viruses or anything like that as I said changing the IPv4 fixed the issue. However I would like to thank you and loveandpower for the help so far honestly.

Yes they will work, regardless of what version of Windows. They have to be ran from the Desktop, not the Metro screen.

Just read through the guides. They are made for those who do not regularly do this kind of step. It is a step by step process as spelled out in the guides.

Run through the tools for the Google Redirect/Poison, then run the Farbar tools I posted in the first post. If still having issues, then run the Farbar tools again, then follow the main malware guide.
