no access to Homegroup folders / files - shown blue/grey
Help. Homegroup filing sharing works on windows 7 pc , but not windows 8.1 pc. folders shown blue /grey in explorer (or when trying to open file in an app (eg. word or excel). Tried using windows troubleshooting, but no help. I have set all folders to share with home group (read/write selected) on window 7 pc, by didn't make any difference. I can see new Windows 8.1 folders on Windows 7 pc, but not the other way around. Windows 8.1 is so frustrating !!
I have looked through a number of previous threads on this subject and followed previous solutions, but these have not worked for me. Left homegroup on both PC. deleted files in peer networking folder, re-set time on both computer. set up new homegroup, joined new home group, but Windows 8.1 pc still shows folders, but they are all blue/grey
