I hadn't been on my desktop for a few days and when I went back to it, it couldn't connect network on IE, but then went to the start menu IE and it worked. I reset the IE options and now the desktop IE works but won't download the google search again,(had it installed on this pc before this incident) and lost all printers that were installed and cannot reinstall because spooler service is not running, I tried starting it and it says not enough resources available. Thanks

Was looking though the recent posts that looked possibly similar to my issue and saw this reply and though I thought I had done this already I tried them and now everything came back. Can anyone explain what just happened to me? Thanks

First, this has absolutely nothing to do with IPv6, which by the way, always says no internet access because it's only used internally with Windows at this point. Do not ever disable IPv6 as there are components in Windows that rely on it's functionality.

This problem is usually from either Winsock or the TCP/IP stack requiring a reset which is a very common problem.

Run the following two commands one at time, use an elevated command prompt, hit enter after each command "in bold". Then restart your machine. :)

netsh winsock reset catalog (reset winsock entries)

netsh int ip reset reset.log hit (reset TCP/IP stack)
