So I've tried setting up my desktop PC to create a hotspot so my mobile phone could get a WiFi internet connection at home.
However, I've run into some problems.
I used some guide I found online that used the Command Prompt to set up a hotspot using two lines:
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=Test key=testingnetwork
netsh wlan start hostednetwork
And this seemed to work fine (phone connected and I went online on it). However, I wanted this network to start automatically everytime I started up the PC. So I put those lines in a batch file and used the task scheduler to set that .bat file to run everytime I log in (using administrator rights).
However, it seemed that now my phone did connect to the network (WiFi connection symbol appeared), but I didn't receive any data. When I tried to run the script again, the first line executed fine, but when I tried to activate the network, I got this message:
"The hosted network couldn't be started.
The group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the requested operation."
And in the network settings, the created network didn't show up.
Any idea what might be going wrong?
