Windows 8 laptop won't connect to wifi.

For some reason my windows 8 Hp will not connect to my home wifi network. Has had no problem connecting in the past but yesterday I unplugged my router to move it to another part of my house and ever since then it can't connect. My cell phone and other laptop connect to the internet no problem.
On my Hp it will show a list of wifi networks and my home network is on the list, however, when I try to connect to it and then troubleshoot the problem it says I can't connect to the network because it is hidden. I don't see how thats possible since the network name shows up on the list of nearby wifi networks.
What I've done but hasn't worked:
Reset my router and laptop multiple times.
Tried to manually connect to network.
Forgot the network on my laptop and tried to reconnect.
I don't understand how one day it can connect to the wifi fine and then I unplug it and all of a sudden it can't connect but my other devices can.
Please help me this is very frustrating and I couldn't find a specific answer anywhere else online.

Networks are not my thing but have you tried setting up a connection manually?

Unable to connect to hidden wireless network.

You say that this problem started when you moved the router to a new location

Does the laptop connect if you go close to the new location? ...
If so then the issue is probably due to a basic signal strength issue - not all wireless systems are equal in different devices, which would explain why other devices are OK. solving this can be a basic thing of chosing a more suitable location for the router.

If this is not the issue then It may be that the router has glitched during the move ...
If this is the case try resetting the router to it's default, (check the router manual), it's also worth while resetting the laptop so you have to re connect to the router.

try this and if still an issue we can try more involved solutions

I only moved the router a couple feet from where it was and the signal strength is reading at excellent, so its not out of range or anything.
I reset the router and restarted my laptop and its still not connecting.
I'm not sure if the problem is something is wrong with my laptop or the router because my two other computers in my house connect to the wifi no problem. The only thing that happens when I try to connect with my one laptop is it will say "cannot connect to wifi" and then I click the troubleshoot link and it tells me that it cannot connect to the network because it is hidden. But the network is still shown on my wifi list and when I try to connect manually it still doesn't work.

Check in the setting page of your router - (When you can get access) and look for an option "display or hide or broadcast SSID" or something similar. this would generate the "Hidden " warning if set not to show.

Another thing to check on a multi protocol router is that it is broadcasting on all protocols, B/G/N, and has not defaulted to one only
