Full access and trust between my Laptop and PC?

I have two machines at home, names are "PC" and "LAPTOP".
User name for my Admin user on both machines is "Anna"

They are each connected to my internet hub, just a dumb and very basic hub provided by the ISP.

I want both machines to have full access to all drives one each machine.

When I first set it up, I was in a hurry and gave full access to "Everyone" on the "LAPTOP" and that seemed to give the PC access to it's drives. But it doesn't work the other way!
But what's the nice and less crude way of doing this?

I don't want to have to re-do it and I don't want to have to enter any passwords.

I want it to be like at work when I am automatically connected to all network drives upon logging on.

Since this isn't wireless, there are no huge concerns of anyone else being able to tap into the machines; security isn't a concern -I care more about convenience.

Any tips appreciated and sorry about the n00b questions.

The following link shows how to set up drive sharing for network access. Adjustments to both the sharing tab and most importantly the Security tab are required.

You can also create a Homegroup between those two machines then add the drives to any Library for access.

From your PC: Control Panel->Network and Sharing Center->Change advanced sharing settings
did you tick on the "Turn off password protected sharing" under All Networks?

Thanks topgundcp! It's true that the option you mentioned was not ticked.
But it doesn't make a difference. I still can't get on the other machine. Get asked for password and entering the password doesn't seem to matter. I don't particularly care about having a "homegroup". I just want the drives to be accessible to both machines on the network. It's very hard to believe it should so tricky. I set every permission I could find to "everyone" and "homegroup users". The machines can see each other, but are locking each other out, against my will. I don't understand how to change it.

That link doesn't answer my question as far as I can tell.

For drive sharing read and follow the link precisely.

There is nothing mysterious about this. Turning off password protected sharing has nothing to do with drive sharing.

Thanks! Ok I have followed this, and I can MAP the network drives I want, and see the folders on that drive. But when I try to expand them I get "You do not have permission to access this computer" or something like that. This is from the Laptop to the PC. The other way it works. I can't figure out what's different. Both machines are Windows 8. I am not bothered about homegroups, workgroups or any of Microsofts user friendly stuff (which I can't get to work anyway). II want to access the entire drive from the laptop to the PC and vice versa.

I have already granted full access for "Everyone" for the drives in questions. Plus added "Everyone" to the users for the Shares.
Neither solved the problem. It must be caused by something else.

My admin user (the account I use on a day-to-day basis) on the machine has no password, and I don't want to set one.
Whereas the laptop user is temporarily set to an online Microsoft Live user (although I plan to disable that).

Could the lack of password, or the fact that one is an an online MS user and the other is a local account have something to do with it?

    I'm grasping straws here....

EDIT: Solved - the problem appears to be that the user on my PC had no password. I set a password and set automatic logon with pre-populated password. Both PCs have the same user name and password.

I am still getting prompted for password upon connecting from the laptop to the PC, but entering the joint login and password worked.
