Welcome to Eightforums. What have you tried so far?

I would try these and see if any of them help... Please let us know the results for each.

    1. Reboot

    2. Left click or your desired network and see you you get the "Connect" option come up.

    3. Right click on your desired network and select "forget this network" if it is an option. Then left click and try to connect again.

    4. Check you Windows is not corrupted by running SFC scannow and DSIM. See these tutorials:
    a. SFC /SCANNOW Command - Run in Windows 8
    b. DISM - Fixing Component Store Corruption in Windows 8

    5. Run the network troubleshooter:
    a. In the start Menu Type Identify and Repair Network Problem and hit enter.
    b. Follow the Onscreen instructions to complete the wizard.

1,2,3,5 I did with no success
4 the two commands did not work for me they work until the end and then they display an error message
dism for example tells me that it could not download source file..
scannow reaches 100% and says it could not fix problems:/

You need to run DSIM before SFC (SFC fixes your windows installation based on copies on your PC, these copies are either corrupt or missing which is what DSIM fixes).

You need to be connected to internet. Is there any way you can connect using ethernet?

If you can connect and it still doesn't work please enclose the dism.log

I already did run dism before sfc and I have an internet connection yet dism doesn't work and the log file is no where near understandable for me despite me being a computer technician for the last 10 years this is the first problem I just can't seem to solve without a complete refresh for the windows 8.1 here is the dism.log if you can understand something I'll be very thankful

Unfortunately I'm a programmer - that is my job. Perhaps a "computer technician" opens the case and blows compressed air on it. I have no idea to be honest. I work with IBM Power servers and the only issue I can remember needing a "technician" was in a bank in Greece when the ashtray was on top of the server and the RAM stopped working because of a short circuit. They replaced the RAM.

Do not refresh your system yet. I'll have a look into it (even though it is not really my field)

There isn't a networking problem per say but there is a system file integrity problem that effects networking even though the problem has nothing to do with networking. The networking problem is only a symptom of the bigger problem which is system files are corrupted or missing.

I've seen many cases where the sfc scan is required to run at least 3 times with reboots between each scan in order to fix problems after which point you can try running the DISM scan again.

Definite weak point in Windows 8, this problem comes up over and over again with no end in sight. Lets hope they can fix this inherent weakness with Windows 9.

Well, I suppose so but you couldn't even do DSIM /RESOREHEALTH in 7. It is a wonderful (and under appreciated) improvement.

In my opinion this is an inherent weak point with Windows 8 while Windows 7 never had problems that required DISM in the first place, sfc yes "sometimes" DISM not required. Windows 8 should not be having such consistent problems with file integrity, it's definitely a major flaw and huge draw back with this op system.

After seeing this problem myself and literally thousands of times here on this forum I'd have to say this is a bigger problem then Msoft is letting on.

It's way to easy for any rogue program or malware to completely ruin this Op system to an unrecoverable state. Keeping a recent system image handy is the best way to fix the issue.

When I said I'm a technician I just meant I have experience I'm not a beginner I didn't mean it any other way...in fact I too work as a programmer but what I meant was that I dealt with many issues before but this one is getting on my nerves really .. I had never asked for help before and probably I'll find a solution sooner or later I just wanted to see if someone had a similar problem and could solve my problem faster sorry If my words were understood another way
