ASUS Notebook WiFi internet speed slower vs wired

So just this past weekend I re-installed Windows 8.1 on my dad's ASUS Notebook (K55N), but now its WiFi internet speed is a good ~25% slower vs wired directly to the router (Linksys E4200), that was definitely not the case prior to the fresh install. I did run Windows Update just after the install just to make sure it downloaded the latest driver for the WiFi Network Adapter (it did download one).

Power Plan is set to High Performance.

I really have no idea what's going on, my dad has another laptop, and there, its internet speed is exactly the same Wireless vs Wired.

I really need your help here, thanks.

Sometimes the Windows update drivers make things worse. Did you try the ASUS drivers? Notebooks & Ultrabooks - K55N - ASUS

Wireless networks are usually a bit slower the wired networks.
Certainly, this is the norm in most offices which is why people take the time to plug into the wired network.
If you want to get the maximum speed out of your connection, use a cable to connect to the modem.

That depends if they use QOS to keep users from hogging all of the bandwidth. I use no QOS scheme with the Cisco RV320 router I have. I get the same speeds from Wireless, that I do with Wired.

Majority of these issues we are finding out. Are being caused by the Microsoft Signed drivers from Microsoft's download repositories.

Home WiFi Internet Speed in Network & Sharing
Hello, I have a high-speed Internet connection at home (100/10). The main computer is connected through an Ethernet cable off a cable-modem, and both the download and upload speeds are excellent, just as the ISP claims it to be. Then, the afore-mentioned cable-modem is linked to my 300Mbps...

Since W8, slower download speed! in Network & Sharing
Hello :) So, when I had Windows 7 I downloaded like 6MB/s, but since I upgraded to Windows 8 I'm only getting 2MBs! So, I searched on Google etc and I saw that Windows 8 is using 20% of your download bandwidth, or what ever it was. So, I want to turn it off by searching 'gpedit.msc', for the...
