Limited Wifi Network Connectivity on Windows 8 Laptop

I purchased a new Windows 8, Inspiron 15 7000 series - 7537 last December. I had been using a router at a hotel for the time, and it worked correctly. When I arrived home, I had a Belkin router, and i experienced network issues in that i could not connect to the wifi. I could connect with Ethernet cable. The problem was fixed through customer support eventually, but I now have a new Comcast router, and i'm experiencing what appears to be the same or a similar issue. I can access the internet fine by wire. With wifi, it says i have access to the internet over the internet icon in the bottom right, but i cannot access webpages. I can use skype, and communicate through it.

Here is the result from the ipconfig /all :

Please help me, I really need the wifi on this router working for this laptop. Let me note that it works on other laptops, so it should be an issue with hardware or settings on this laptop.

It's very likely that the Hamachi connection is causing your problems. You will need to uninstall Hamachi to fix the problem.

This happens all the time with Hamachi.

I uninstalled Hamachi and restarted my computer, however, I am still experiencing the same network ifi issues. Here's an updated ipconfig /all below:

Using Firefox, I checked my router settings one day, but instead of logging off, I just closed the browser. Immediately began to have connectivity problems for a day or two. I went back in and logged out this time and it solved the problems.

The problems I'm seeing relate to the DNS server coming from one source while the default gateway appears to be coming from another source or a different router.

You can see the IP in the 10.0.0.1 range while the DNS shows up as a Belkin router gateway IP of 192.168.2.1 . This makes no sense to me at all unless there is more than one router in this network maybe?

You may have one of those so called modem/routers combo unit's connected to your Belkin router which will cause problems unless you disable DHCP on the Belkin and connect them both LAN port to LAN port. That would allow the Belkin to pick up an IP in the same subnet as the modem/router is using.

I can only guess without more information.

Yes, this all makes sense. I used to use a Belkin router, and I still have it with me, though it's turned off, disconnected from a power source. When I set up the new Comcast router (which happens to be both a modem and a router) i still had the belkin router on (not connected to internet, but powered on). Maybe that contributed to the issue? Why didn't the DNS switch over to the Comcast router? What would I have to do with it to make it so that it's automatic, or so that I can change the DNS it uses to one so that it'll function with the router?

It's acting like the old Belkin is still involved in the network for some reason.

If the Belkin router is removed then you just need to reset the IP or flush the DNS cache in that case.

Try running the following commands in an elevated command prompt one at a time then hit enter after each one then reboot the system.

Code:
ipconfig /flushdns

Code:
ipconfig/release

Code:
ipconfig/renew
