Certain programs cannot connect to Internet.

Hi, I've got an odd issue with my Lenovo laptop running Windows 8.

Certain programs or installers give me a popup stating that "Cannot connect to internet, please try again".
Although each program has a different way of stating the issue, that is the overall message I receive whether via the iTunes Store, Windows Store or even installing a program that needs a connection to begin installation.

I can connect to my WiFi just fine and can check my email, watch videos and listen to music but for some reason it's like these programs cannot detect an internet connection. I have tried restarting my computer as well as using the Recovery option as well. I disabled my firewall and anti-virus for a couple minutes in case it was preventing any specific connections and I also checked my Network Adapters in my Device Manager and all seems to be working fine.

I'm unsure what to do next and since I'm trying to reformat a hard drive (with a program that gives me the connection error) I'm kind of at a stand still and felt I've exhausted my resources (including a lengthy Google search)

Any help or just a point in the right direction would be much appreciated.

Start from the basics. Is this on your own network, or a Public Hotspot? Is anyone else having issues connecting on this network?

Open up a Command Window in the Desktop and post the results of (without the quotes): "netsh wlan show all". Also "ipconfig".

This is on my home network and there are 2 desktop PCs in this house and they arent getting any errors like mine.

When I use the cmd window, it displays multiple networks that are saved. Should I provide the info for my specific network because it has happened on other networks but my current one is the one I use.

You did not finish answering my question. I really need that information to see what you see for network information. Without it. This is a dead issue. Also needing ISP, Router or Gateway you are using, if not using a separate Modem & Router for your network.
