Hi there
I must be regressing -- I've forgotten how to do it in windows
I want when accessing a Windows share for the user to have to enter user name and password - but I don't want the user to have a logon account to the Windows machine.
In "Plain" English I just want a user to have access to the Windows SHARE but no access to any other resources on the Windows machine.
Can I set up something like this (example from Linux to windows share) here the dialog box is shown - but I just want to have ONLY access to the shares without having a login account on the Windows machine.
I want also the same type of dialog also for Windows to Windows for users who have Windows client machines.
(It's easy if there is an account on the target windows machine but I might have say 20 users who need to access a share on say a server but they shouldn't have a logon to the machine itself).
(Absolutely SIMPLE in Linux -- that's one area - NETWORKING where Windows still to me seems a real "Dogs dinner" of a mess).
Cheers
jimbo
