Ok so, i want basicly to home host a VPN, and that is what i do at the moment. So i tried with my friend after i did finish the setup (i did setup the VPN in the Windows Networks interface, over "Incomming Connections"), and i did portforward 1723, and the worst is, that when my friend connects upto the VPN from his PC at his home (not Local), to my IP, then it says on my PC he is connected. But here comes the problems, at his PC, the Network Icon turns into a yellow warning icon, and when he clicks troubleshoot, it says "DNS Server does not respond", but at my PC here, it even says he is connected to the VPN, but also says no connection over IPv4, and the same on his side. What can we do to get a connections from my PC to his PC, over the VPN, so he can access the Internet over my Internet instead, like lets say he has a blockade on for example www.facebook.com at home (wich he of course doesnt has, it is just an example), and he connects to my VPN, as he accesses my Internet instead, he can open www.facebook.com, instead of having it blocked (one of the main purposes for a VPN, and the data encryption of course). Can anyone help me, tell me how to fix the issue? Here some screenshots:

My PC (Language = German):

My Friends PC (Language = Norwegian):

And as you can see on my PC, it says he is connected, and as you can see on his PC, it also says he is connected, but he cant access the Internet, or anything else related to the web. Now prepare for the funny part: We were on Skype, and as he connected to the VPN, and "lost" the Internett Access, we were still talking (i guess thats because Skype still runs over the home network, while the rest tries to access internet over the VPN connection :p ). And yes im German, my friend is Norwegian, i live in Norway, am from Germany, i speak fluently German and Norwegian blablabla ;)

Thanks for help in advance.

At some point in the VPN connection set up for the client he should be seeing a setting "use default gateway of host" or something to that effect, try either unclicking or checking that option which should allow a connecting on the other end.

Hi there
You better check your image link -- it does something very naughty -- I hope you checked it. (First image).

Anyway trying to click on your image to get a larger image --- well NAUGHTY BOY !!!!!.

Surprised the Forum software didn't filter it out. !!

You can by closing it you can get to your image -- but we shouldn't have to do this rubbish.

If you want to access Facebook or other sites from some ISP's that block them I suggest you use TOR rather than set up a VPN - much simpler. I use that to access BETFAIR (perfectly legal Betting exchange site) which is blocked in Belgium / France because they want you to use THEIR service instead (much inferior costs more and higher taxes ) !!!

(If your friend uses you as a VPN even though you can access sites he can't he can still be traced and monitored. TOR is a much better (and LEGAL) way of anonymously using the Internet -- and YOU won't get into trouble if HE accesses "undesirable sites").

Cheers
jimbo

Ah i get what you mean, if i where you, i would get AdBlock, that is why i dont see the ad you see. I uploaded there cause i had the page already open, so i didnt thought about the ads.

Note: Also i would switch to a real browser like Chrome or Firefox, as there AdBlock can be found as extension in the Chrome Webstore.

Oh how about not using a file hosting site with so many lame pop ups?

That was one of the worst I've seen although it's too bad your post was turned into a warning thread rather than a help thread which I did try to help.;)

Well ye cause its my fault people dont use AdBlock.... :/ Turning it into a Warning Thread is more being retarded than being helpful, as it doesnt help me turning it into a Warning Thread, without me even knowing it before, as i dont know there are ads on the page, as i use an AdBlocker, wich i recommend you guys to use rather than blaming people :(. That is a help post from me btw.

Back to the original post, make sure that your DNS server configured can be pinged and make sure the traceroute results shows that it passes through the tunnel.
