I am my wits end, all my searches has not picked up anything relevant enough…

By “Slow” I mean from 20-30 seconds to X minutes, or never...

WIN 8.1.0 STD with IE 11 – and Chrome - under Classic Shell on HP/Compaq Desktop 100 (1,48/8GB)
F-Secure 1.99. When disabled for testing, no change
Connected to:
Netgear Genie WNA 1100 Wireless USB adapter (Reports 150 Mbps)
Connected to:
Gigabyte Aircruiser Ultra N Router GN-BR32L-RH (WPA2-PSK)
Cable Connected to:
ISP Cable modem 50/10 connection. Speedtest from ISP/Authority show normal result.

Same setup OK under previous XP machine with IE 10 – and Chrome.

Hope for fresh insight.

Rgds
By the way: IE 11 do not render most web pages correctly either, switching to Chrome where necessary. Next problem….

Half is the router is the issue. The other is you never stated what Cable modem you are using.

Solved (software problem)

Cable modem is Cisco EPC3010 furnished by ISP.

If router is behind problem, why do speedtests and internal Netgear info report expected transfer rates?
A software/firmware problem related to incompatibility with 8.1-IE11, since it worked under XP With IE10?

Solution:
My bad, Sync turned on in JottaCloud. Underlying reasons not investigated.
