Asus N56VJ WiFi connectivity issues after update

    Hey everyone,

I have an Asus N56VJ running Win8.1 and for the last few days I experiencing issues with WiFi at home.

My case: After an update my laptop started to have problems using WiFi. At the beginning started to slowing down, then limited access and so on as you can guess.

What I have done so far: 1. Troubleshooting - fixes the problem for no more than a few minutes. It says " Problem with wirelss adapter or access point". I know my router works fine due I'm connected right now on my phone. 2. Uninstall network driver and installing it again. 3. TCP, IP, DNC reset. 4. Power Management and in unchecking the option.

Seems nothing worked for me. Matter of fact it has gotten worst and now my internet access last for seconds. What else could be done before I go ahead and take it to bb or microcenter?

    Thank you.

With any problem that relates to a Windows update you should use system restore to restore your system to a point before the update occurred. Windows typically creates a restore point before updating the system for this reason.

Be sure and go through the pending Windows updates after the restore so you can hide the problematic update which will prevent it from reinstalling. The problematic update is most likely a driver update for the network adaptor.

You could also try installing the Asus driver for your Asus N56VJ directly from the Asus site.

prior to restore windows better to know your network performance, i know how annoying internet connection issues can be, so before anything else you should check you network connectivity first, just to avoid wasint time if the problem can be found from the test. To run the test go to Test your Connection and click the big green button. When the scan is finished you will receive a unique URL with all details like WebSockets, WebRTC etc..

There seems to be almost no correlation to performance - 5 bars could be a 100+ Mbps connection, or it could be < 5 Mbps... On the other hand, 4, 3, 2, and 1 bars all mean that the connection is going to be flaky and unstable
