one 8.1 wkstn only: network error, user cannot access

a particular server 2008R2 folder using either an app or windows explorer. All users from that wkstation have the problem. No problem if they access from a different win8.1 wkstation.

I changed the computer name and rebooted the machine. The new name shows up in AD on the server but still have the permissions error/problem for all users from that machine.
