Issue with logging into Win 8.1 pro. Taking a long time..

So, I have been running 8.1 pro for some time now. During the last 2 or 3 weeks, I started having a login issue.

    It loads bios
    loads windows fine.
I get to the login screen, and it seems to take forever to recognize internet connection. Gives me the little "!" over the internet.
    I put in password.
takes about a minute to finally log in.

I have gone to start up in task manager and disabled everything. This does nothing.
I have changed from a live to a local account. Nothing.
I have not installed anything recently other then video drivers.
Internet seems to work fine while logged in.

Any ideas? Have all the most recent mobo drivers.......

    Hardware
    Asrock z77 Fatality Pro
    Core i7 3770k
Kingston X SSD for OS drive.

Anything else in my hardware does not really seem relevant.....

This driving me mad because I am attempting o OC my cpu and gpu and have to reboot a lot to dial it in.

Here is a really bad pic of what I am seeing on the login screen. It takes up to 3 minutes to establish coneection when it used to be almost instantaneous.

Here are some other things I have done.

updated router firm ware: no change
    tried static ip: nodda
    disabled all virus software: nothing.
    diff enet cable. nothing

    still having the issue......

I have done lots of searching, but have not quite found this same issue.

Good efforts so far. Static ip is good, even if it didn't help your problem.

Could be rootkit. They affect startup in various ways.

As far as disabling antivirus/firewall goes, that cannot help. You would need to uninstall it to see if it does.

If you have any Himachi software, uninstall.

If you have any VM software, uninstall to test.

If you have Networx software, uninstall.

You overlooked the most important thing. You should download Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit, Malwarebytes and Norton Power Eraser to see if they show any results. If they do, use Killdisk to wipe the hard drive then install Windows.

As for static ip - if you Google, there are probably thousands of links about it.

When overclocking and trying to get it stable you will end up with multiple BSOD's etc. that can and will destroy system files among other things.

You really should use another drive to create a system image which you can restore from because as you have found out, unstable overclocks will ruin the integrity of the operating system. Once this happens it's much easier to simply use the system image to restore from.

Without the system image about the only way to fix these types of problems is to run system file integrity scans per the link below.

In the case the system file scans will still be required as a properly working Windows system has no such problems with slow log in's etc.

Any overclock that isn't stable will also cause problems such as you are seeing.

It might even help to disable fast start up, directions in the following link.

Did that and it said there were errors it could not repair. So, I ran the second command line you put in there and it said it repaired all errors.

Installed all the apps you listed and they did not find anything. I usually run a fairly clean OS, so I was not expecting anything.

    Problem still persists.

Here is a short video of the issue. Bare with me, my phone was having the hardest time focusing on on screen text, but I think you can enough.

Also, ran prime 95 for 24 hours. CPU OC is stable.

Prime is pointless, completely. Often, systems fail after passing tests there and the opposite is also true as well - a system can fail in prime but yet be perfect stable during all other usage.

Overclocking modern computers is more pointless than not too, since their performance is very well off anyway. It used to be a good practice way back in the days when the difference really meant something. Video card overclocking is still useful today, though.

Glad to hear that there's no malware found.

    Cpu over clocking is fun.

Any other ideas on my issue?
