Because i spoke to the support and they remote into the pc and where not able to fix it and they said to go back to windows 8
so they already know about it

    Thanks
I'm glad that you followed through to support directly because many just complain in their forums and nothing gets done. Nice work!

    Thank you very much

I have an HP laptop and I too keep losing my connection to the internet through my wireless adapter. Sometimes I get a message that says limited access and other times it says I'm not connected to my home network. I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with my actual internet service because we have other devices in the house that will be connected to the internet when I lose my connection. This has been going on for a few weeks now and normally I can get it working again when I either reboot the computer or tell it to fix my internet connection problem but I finally got fed up with this happening so I called HP two days ago. They had me uninstall my wireless adapter and then reinstall the adapter and all software. It worked for the remainder of the day but last night, once again, I lost my internet connection. I'm going to give HP a call again but I thought I'd come in here and see if perhaps this is related to Windows 8.1 and was hoping someone had a good solution to this problem. I also wanted to be sure you knew it wasn't just happening with Lenovo computers.
And I did try one suggestion I read in this post about not letting the computer turn off the adapter to save energy but I still lost my internet connection.

Could you please tell me where to find those settings? And just for the record, I haven't changed any wireless settings and before this disconnect problem started. Everything worked fine up until several weeks ago. I've had the computer since January 2014.

Sheryl, I don't know if the same problem but I had a issues with my wifi not connecting and dropping out when it did connect. I had to hunt around for drivers that solved it. Not the latest drivers either, from August 2013.

What model of wifi card do you have?

I have Intel Centrino Wireless N2230 adapter and my driver is dated 8-8-2013. According to Windows update, there's a new driver and I tried installing it the other day thinking that would fix the problem but it didn't. When HP had me uninstall everything and then reinstall the software and driver, it must have installed the original driver again. I didn't try updating the driver because I figured I'd wait and see what HP has to say. I'm holding off calling them until I lose connection again, assuming that will happen. I lost my connection to my wireless printer an hour or two ago and figured I'd lose my internet connection but so far that hasn't happened.

Sheryl, you may want to read through this, seems other are having problems with that card and 8.1: https://communities.intel.com/thread/45997

You can try some of the things listed there. The correct answer is listed as installing intel® PROSet/Wireless Software version 16.7.0_e164.exe . They are here:

Thanks for those links. It sounds as if my problem is a little different so I'm not sure if the advice will work but it's worth a try.
