Some laptops are not finding each other on my network.

I want to be able to have all 3 computers on the same homegroup.

    Ok, here is my situation.

I have 3 laptops, all connected to the same wireless network. We'll call them Laptop-A, Laptop-B and Laptop-C.
Laptop-C has no problems. Laptop-A can see Laptop-C, but not Laptop-B. Laptop-B can see Laptop-C, but not Laptop-A.

If I create a homegroup on Laptop-C, Laptop-A can join, but Laptop-B doesn't detect it (stays as "Create a HomeGroup").

If I create a homegroup on either Laptop-A or Laptop-B no other computers can detect the homegroup except Laptop-C.

All computers are in the same workgroup (WORKGROUP).
All computers are running Windows 8.1 Pro.

It's acting like there are two different subnets.

Can you post the ipconfig/all from laptop C?

Does each machine have a unique computer name?

Time/date in sync on all machines?

I cant access laptop C at the moment. He is out for the week. Plus I'm not too worried about his computer, I mainly want to connect laptop A and B.

They all have unique computer names.

They are all synced to the internet time server time.nist.gov.

Should I statically set the subnet?

When I open that page under Network it doesn't show the IP's but does show Workgroup and network location.

If you look under IP address for A it shows ::1 rather than a valid IP address, then with B it shows the host file IP rather than the actual IP of that machine. I'm not sure what this means but it doesn't look right to me.

Are you able to ping from one machine to the other using the IP address?

If you right-click on the categories row, you can select additional columns.

I am wondering how to reset the IPs to what we see in the command prompt. I've already tried /release /renew.

Is there something to do with the hosts file? or the registry?

Yes ok Category, I see it now.

I'm not sure but my networked machines don't show the host file address any place in the same window.
Can you ping the ip of each machine and see if it goes through.

Just type "ping 192.168.1.xxx" into an elevated command prompt. Replace the xxx with the IP of the machine.

My laptops performance drops drastically. Why does this happen? When my battery gets down to I think 9% or something like that, there's no point in even using the laptop since the performance drops so much.
