I was messing around with doom for DOS in DOSBox. I wanted to open a network game. IPX I found on there as an option. I have never heard of it. Is it possible to do with ethernet? Do I have to have a modem/phone line? What do I need to do to make it a "IPX compatible network"? Please explain in detail as much as you can about IPX. I need to know how it works. Feel free to step outside of layman's terms. I know loads about networking and computers.
Thanks,
