I JUST got this systems with Windows 8. I am trying to keep an open mind but so far am not at all impressed. I don't care for S\W that wants to think and make decisions on what I want to do. (yes I know there are arguments for this as well! ) I logged into the windows store and was told I could update to 8.1 for free. When I tried to do this I was told I must be an administrator to handle this. I am the only account on the system and it is identified as the admin.
I only wanted the update since there are apps that mandate it. I can work around but am NOT a full time IT guy. I only dabble, therefore I am in possession of just enough knowledge to be dangerous.... Any observations on why the M/S store will not recognize my user account as an admin would be gratefully accepted.
(By the way, I am in awe of people who live in this world. I want to know more about the IT environs, but time and commitments seem to be a fair obstacle)
