Selective SkyDrive Sync for various Work Stations

I have three computers that are used for different purposes. I want to be selective on which files/folders have local copies on the different machines. Here's an outline of the system and the goals:

One SkyDrive account with folders F1, F2, F3.

Laptop 1 runs Win7Pro and needs local copies of folders F1, F2, F3
Tablet 2 runs Win8Pro and needs local copies of folders F1, F2
Laptop 3 runs Win8.1Pro and needs local copy of F3 only

    Can this be done?

I can tell you how to completely remove it if you wish... but that's another thread.

You will need the Skydrive application on each PC, and use the "Selective Synch" features
Quite a bit of info if you google:

Hello Jim, and welcome to Eight Forums.

In Windows 8.1, you could use the method in the tutorial below to make available offline and online the SkyDrive folders you want per PC.
In Windows 7 and Windows 8, you would need to use the SkyDrive desktop app to be able to sync instead per PC.

    Hope this helps,

Thanks for your fast replies. Can I assume that when I make these selections that they will only affect the machine that I'm on at that time and that I can make different selections on the others and they won't change the syncing ops. on the first (or second) one?

    Thanks again,

Yes, that's correct. If you make them available offline in File Explorer on a PC, it'll be for only that PC.

We won’t be offering a way to sync between PCs without using the cloud as we’ve found that it adds complexity. Both technical complexity as well as, more importantly, complexity in the overall user model. The SkyDrive model is really quite simple in that it’s “cloud-first” and not “cloud-optional”...
