Airplane Mode permanently on-Unable to directly use Wi-Fi

    Hi,

I have a (kind of) big problem here.

I am using a dell latitude e6430 laptop and just recently i encountered this problem- The airplane mode of my computer refuses to be turned off.

I tried going to the pc settings > networks but the selection is grayed out and stays at [on]. This results in my computer not being able to connect to the internet.

I have also tried doing a system restore to the date when it was working perfectly fine, but the airplane mode is still grayed out.

The only way i could access my internet on this computer is to tether my mobile phone and connect it to the wifi via USB tethering.

Is there any way to force off the airplane mode(In command prompt etc) or Remove the option? :O

Please help! Thank you very much for your kind attention!

Q: Why can't I turn off Airplane mode on a Windows 8 laptop?

A: Windows 8's Airplane mode option on the Networks area is designed to quickly turn off devices, then resume them again by turning off the Airplane mode.

If Airplane mode is enabled on your laptop and you can't turn it off because the switch is grayed out, check that there's no physical wireless On/Off switch on the device.

If there is a physical wireless switch, and it's set to Off, you won't be able to turn off Airplane mode. Set the wireless switch to On and the option to turn off Airplane mode should be available.

About the only other solutions I can find relate to updating the bios and drivers for the Dell latitude e6430.
