no network after 8.1 upgrade

I just got a dell venue pro 11 for xmas. I immediately connected it to my internet during the set up process, and began updating. I did the upgrade to 8.1, and now no networks available. thru the device manager, for the wireless adapter, I get code 10. I once did a refresh, even tho I had not done anything but updates, and did get internet back temporarily. again, it is lost. there has been no web surfing, or anything just yet. what has 8.1 done? and how can I get my connection back? I'll promptly put a call to dell if needed.

Hi clark kent,

Some drivers might need to be updated in order to be compatible with Windows 8.1

  • Please copy & paste the following into notepad.
  • Code:
    netsh wlan show all >%userprofile%\Desktop\Network.txt
    sc query dhcp >>%userprofile%\Desktop\Network.txt
    sc query dnscache >>%userprofile%\Desktop\Network.txt
    sc query wlansvc >>%userprofile%\Desktop\Network.txt
    ipconfig /all >>%userprofile%\Desktop\Network.txt
    netsh advfirewall show global >>%userprofile%\Desktop\Network.txt
    netsh winhttp show proxy >>%userprofile%\Desktop\Network.txt
  • Save the file as "Network.bat"
  • Right click the file and select Run as Administrator.
  • This will create a file called "Network.txt" on the desktop.
  • Copy & paste the contents into your next post.

One or more parameters for the command are not correct or missing.
Usage: show all
Remarks:
Shows the complete 802.11 wireless interface information, networks, and
wireless settings on the system, including:
- Wireless driver information
- Wireless interface status
- Wireless configuration settings
- Wireless network filters
- Wireless network profiles list and details
- Visible wireless networks
Examples:
show all
ECTECH- I simply copied your code to a flash drive, then copied from the flash drive to notepad on the tablet. I saved it as 'network.bat' then ran the file as admin to creat the folder on the desktop. I then copied the folder to the flash drive, plugged the drive into this pc, opened it, and pasted the contents to what you see here. something was wrong somewhere.
