    Recommendations for wireless setup

Recently, since I've had my desktop from PC Specialist, the wireless connection on this has been fluctuating in terms of speed; sometimes it would give me the glorious speed of the fibre optic connection I have, while other times would make me want to smash the antennas off at the back.

All I am wondering is what I should do/get in this kind of setup to improve the connection. I have:

Install inSSIDer and post the results here so I can have a look. It shows which channels are best etc.

What do you mean by results? Is it under the analysis tab or the network tab?

Who does the other two networks belong to? Are these guest networks on your own router?

As you can see, all three networks are on channel 11, all three have extremely weak signals.

I wouldn't expect this connection to work very well at all because of the poor signal strength, changing to a different channel, like channel 1 will at least keep the channels separate so as to eliminate overlapping channels but it won't really help the signal strength which is a real problem here.

The other two networks are a part of the BT Router, but I think I'll try changing channels.

You really need to move closer to the router and turn off those guest networks, of course with the guest networks turned off then it won't matter if you change channels.

But I don't know how to turn off the guest networks. And besides, I don't really have anywhere else to place my desktop.

Well all firmware's are different so I can't give precise directions but there are settings to turn off the guest networks someplace.

I suggest setting up another access point because the signal strength here is not good. No magic button fix for this, wireless is only as good as you make it.
