Windows 8: Trouble with maintaining internet connection

    Good morning,

I am having a bit of trouble maintaining internet connection on my PC. Pretty often, I'd say multiple times an hour, my connection will drop to incredibly low speeds. (It never says no internet connection or anything, but I absolutely cannot load webpages, play online games, etc.) This seems to only be a problem on my PC, as my laptop never experiences these drops, and a speedtest from my ISP confirms this.

I have tried to update drivers to my 802.11n Wireless LAN Card (Rosewill RNX-N150PCx) but it tells me they are all up to date. I have even plugged directly into my PC with an ethernet cable, and I still get much lower speeds on my PC than my laptop or other devices. These devices are powered off/in sleep-mode while I'm on my PC, so I don't think it's an issue of too many things trying to access the internet from my home.

I am unsure what else the problem could be, maybe it's something simple that I'm overlooking. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Windows has no such problems that I'm aware of, however, third party anti virus's are famous for causing problems like this.

    Which A/V are you running?

I am using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, otherwise that is the only AV I have besides the default Windows Defender.

Hmmm Malwarebytes is one of the few I trust to not cause problems like this. I'm sure you have this system updated with all the Windows updates?

Which model router are you running?

Zero faith in those and I've personally seen way too many problems with these ISP issued modem/routers.

Just to check the IP, drivers etc. unzip and click on the file below, it will create a .txt on your desktop, please upload the file here so I can have a look.

I'm really not seeing any problems with the ipconfig or the network settings. Have you upgraded to Windows 8.1 yet?

Ok first you can try downloading the latest Intel LAN driver from the Gigabyte web site, these drivers are very recent and may help with the Ethernet connection problem.

    GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1150 - GA-Z87X-UD3H (rev. 1.x)

The Roswell PCI NIC uses a Ralink chip set, no up to date drivers for the Roswell but the Ralink drivers may work.
Download Ralink RT3070 Wireless Driver 5.1.2.0 for Windows 8

I did not have 8.1 yet. Downloaded it this morning, and will test out the connection later today to see if the problem persists. I'll report back and mark as solved if it works.
