Solved Missisng Airplane Mode PC-Desktop

Greetings all, and early Merry Christmas!

The problem I have, on my desktop PC, is that I'm missing the Airplane Mode switch from all the areas it should be. I've done quite a bit of Googling and while there are a few people with similar issues, there has not really been any easy fix answers.

...the reason I'd like to have this option, is that I use Reaper as a DAW, and its well known that disabling all your wireless is a good way to increase performance.

I've gone into Device Manager and simply disabled the wireless driver...but that's not very convenient.

My specs;

-running Windows 8.1
-Asus z87 Pro motherboard
-Intel Core i5-4670k
-16GB ram

...any suggestions would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, you will only have the Airplane mode feature available on a mobile Windows 8 device (ex: laptop, tablet, mobile phone, etc...) that has a wireless network connection (ex: Wi-Fi, mobile broadband, Bluetooth).

A desktop will not have Airplane mode available since it's not a mobile PC.

However, as a workaround for a desktop with wireless, you could still Disconnect and Connect from wireless at will from within the Networks flyout. Just be sure to have Connect automatically unchecked so that your PC will not try to automatically connect when you may want it to stay disconnected like with Airplane mode.

...it does indeed help, Brink, thanks. Now that I know that's there no driver/software issues that I have to contend with, I can rest easier. I used to use Reaper on my laptop, so that's how I got used to toggling wifi on and off.

Still, I think it'd be nice to be able to universally disengage all network/wifi/Bluetooth capabilities with one fancy shcmancy toggle.
BTW...I did see your .exe file for airplane mode. Very nice. ...makes things easier.
