Hello,
I'm currently trying to setup my router as the previous one broke but my laptop won't detect the ethernet cable being plugged in.
Things I've tried:
Currently running Windows 8 64bit. I've tried searching through other posts but none solving the problem.
Thanks, any help is much appreciated.
I'm currently trying to setup my router as the previous one broke but my laptop won't detect the ethernet cable being plugged in.
Things I've tried:
- Rebooting and hard resetting router.
- Changing the Speed/Duplex. Changing to to 100Mbps Full Duplex caused the routers lan port to light up but my laptop still displays that there is no ethernet cable plugged in. And changing it to 10Mbps Full/Half duplex occasionally causes the adapter to display detecting network settings for a split second before changing back to displaying no ethernet cable detected.
- Resetting Bios.
- Tried the sfc /scannow command and shows that there are corrupt files unable to be fixed automatically. (The log is here https://www.mediafire.com/?67di5t9k3gs4sin (uploaded externally as file size is too large)).
- Restarting the laptop.
- changing ethernet cables.
- Updating to latest ethernet drivers.
Currently running Windows 8 64bit. I've tried searching through other posts but none solving the problem.
Thanks, any help is much appreciated.
