Solved Invisible wifi connections

I have two USB wi fi adapters attached. One is described in Device Manager as 802.11n, the other 802.11g. Both adapters are shown as working correctly and have the latest available drivers. The problem is that after update from windows 8 to 8.1, only the available connections from WiFi 1 (802.11n) are shown. The listings from both adapters were shown on windows 8. as Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi 2. The 8.1 installation does not show Wi-Fi2.
The Network and Sharing Center shows a network assigned to Wi-Fi 2 which is the 802.11g adapter, and internet explorer connect to one of the available connections (presumably the top one of the invisible list of connections), so the adapter, though fairly old, is working in 8.1.
Removing one adapter does not allow the other listing to be shown.
Any Help or suggestions appreciated. Googling the problem does not produce any help.

Thank you for the quick reply.
I have re installed the drivers to both adapters without ant success.
The adapters both seem to be working and are identified on the machine.
The problem is that when the network icon on the taskbar is clicked and the blue panel pops out, only the available connections for one adapter are shown.
Unfortunately I have to regularly connect to the invisible adapter and will have to revert to windows 8 if a solution can not be found.
