Sorry for posting this but why is my network called network 3??
And can i rename it??

Hello gavinid,

It appears that every time a network configuration is changed (ie, new router, etc), Windows 8 generates a new network name incrementally, so what you are seeing is not uncommon; however, I do not have multiple network names, so I will give you my best guess on where to look. So, please follow the steps in the screenshot and notice that I was successful in changing my existing network name from "Network" to "my2cents."

UPDATE: Right click and select properties in step 3 please.

The last post I saw was #3 and then I started to generate my own response. Now, since it took me over 13 minutes to generate that step by step and test it myself, by the time I clicked "post", I noticed that you had added an additional recommendation.
