Folks,

Thank you for the Forum!

Here's my problem:

When I shutown my Win 8.1 Lenovo desktop all goes well and it shuts down fine. A few seconds later, it restarts and I get the following message on my screen:

>>CheckingMedia Presence......
>>Media Present......
>>Start PXE over IPv6.

Shortly after, I'm back up and running. The problem is, I want it to shutdown, not reboot!

Anyone want to help me solve this?

Thank you.

This has been a recurring Issue, enabling IPv6 either keeps a system alive and prevents it from sleeping, or this right here.

Does your ISP even use IPv6? you can check in your Adapter settings. if you right click on the adapter and choose "Status" it will show you the present status of the adapter, usually it will say "IPv4 - Internet Access, IPv6, No Internet Access" - Unless if in your case, your ISP can use IPv6. It will say if this is so in your Status.

The best you can do is disable IPv6 in the adapter settings.

Also. check your system BIOS, you can either get to that by hitting F1 or F2 right after you press Power, or inside of Windows 8, you can go to P{C settings, and Advanced Startup should have a way for you to get to the BIOS from there. When you get into the BIOS, check for any wake-up settings, disable "Wake on Lan"

Thank you, XweAponX,

Problem solved. Changing network adapter settings did nothing, but changing the BIOS Wake on LAN from Auto to Disabled worked.

Thanks, again,

Excellent! Yah, if you are not using WOL, then leave it shut off on the MB.
