Yes, that is where I am looking. Is that not the right place? Also in that advanced sharing box,the name is workgroup and not homegroup. Is that a problem and if so how do I change it?

If those tabs aren't the same as mine then something is wrong because the ones I'm showing are the default settings for the Users folder. It would help if you could post a screen shot of the User folder.

About the only way for the Sharing tab to disappear is if someone unchecked the Sharing Wizard in Folder Options which is enabled by default per the picture below, just go to the Control Panel then Folder Options to check that the Sharing Wizard setting is enabled.

The wizard box is checked. I tried a print screen shot, but it is huge. How do I make a smaller one?

The built in snipping tool is good for that but the screen shots work fine for me also.

You only need to leave the Homegroup on all machines in the Homegroup in order to create a new one. Although if there is no sharing tab on the Users folder then you certainly have bigger problems than just the Homegroup.

Yes the snip didn't work, to upload a picture you need use the "Go Advanced" button.

You have the same problem as this other guy. > Connecting Windows 8.1 to a Windows 7 Homegroup

This is called a corrupted User profile, pretty hopeless situation due to the upgrade with no obvious solution other than refresh or reset. This isn't something that can be easily fixed.

Just wanted to thank all who offered suggestions for homegroup sharing. I finally got it. Left homegroup on both computers and then started again. I did change the name of one computer. Don't know if that was the magic trick,or not,and then started the group up again and only used "everyone" for joining. For now, at least, it is all working. Thanks for hanging in there with me.

Sounds good to me, yes usually leaving and rejoining fixes Homegroup problems. You might have been using the same PC name on two machines which could have created the problem. Glad it's fixed.
