    Hello Tully,

You might see if you may be able to use an option in the tutorial below to uncheck it's Allow this device to wake the computer box in Device Manager if available.

    Hope this helps,

    Shawn:
Excellent suggestion, never thought of the Device Manager.
It opens Pandora's Box That I will have to take time to explore.
My quest is to shut down my computers totally, now when I shut down all the USB devices are still connected.

I have a USB stick for a CCTV camera & would like to shut it down when I shot down the compter.
Now I have to unplug it.

I opened the Device Manager & WOW, just as I thought. What a great source of info.
However I could not find what I was looking for!

Well, it was a good idea!

    Thanks again Shawn!

In the "Power Management" tab of the CCTV USB in Device Manager, do you have an "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" option to check?

    Never thought of that!

    Thanks!

I guess I can still learn more about computers, even though I have been in them since the beginning! (84yrs old)
