Unable to connect to ipv6 internet and create homegroup

    Hey everyone,
I tried to find the solution to that by digging through the forum and El Goog without luck. I am trying to create a homegroup on my network but I keep getting an arror message saying I need to enable IPV6 to create it. When I click on the properties of my network card, the ipv6 box is checked. My ipconfig log doesn't show ipv6 either. here it is (sorry for thew french. but you can get the idea. no IPV6 anywhere):

I have an HP pavillion dv7 upgraded from win7 64bit to win8 pro and my router is a Dlink DIR-826L dual band n600.

If you can help me shed some light on that, that would be awesome!

    Thanks everyone!

Hello duro195, the link below shows a registry adjustment that may help with the IPv6 problem. You might also want to check that the required services are turned on and set to automatic, the link shows the required services as well.

If this is the entire ipconfig/all from your machine, it appears as if you are also missing the required tunnel adaptors for IPv6 so it would be helpful if you could post a screen shot of the Device Manager with Network Adaptors expanded.

As for the device manager, there is indeed a problem with one of the adaptor. It says it cannot start (code 10) and I tried updating the driver, but I get the same error message so I can't. Any ideas for that? Is it safe to uninstall it and then install it again?

I followed all the instructions at the link you provided me with. it's not working at the moment. Maybe after a reboot it will. Just because I'm lazy and I don't want to type this again, I'll post again when it has rebooted.

    thanks!

Ok! post reboot status: It doesn't work either. I managed to update my Teredo Tunneling adapter driver...and it somehow disappeared from the list now. I'm clueless as to what went wrong...

I'd say you have system file corruption problems.

Please run the following command in an elevated command prompt. sfc /scannow

Let me know what it says after the scan completes.

    Hi,
I just completed the scan and here is the result:
    Microsoft Windows [Version 6.2.9200]
    (c) 2012 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
    Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some
of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For
example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Note that logging is currently not
    supported in offline servicing scenarios.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>

When I try to open that log file, it says access denied so I can't see it (which is weird because I'm the admin and only user on my computer). On the flipside though, I ran ipconfig /all again and it now shows my ipv6 address and everything is working. I managed to set up my homegroup. I guess the corrupt files have nothing to do with it. That must be something else.

thanks for your help! I will mark this thread as solved

Well the scan and the subsequent repair of some system files is what fixed the tunnel adaptor problem, however, there are still some corrupt files that aren't repaired. Either way the tunnel adaptor is fixed so your Homegroup is now working again but you should try to repair the rest of the system files if possible.

If you restart the machine then run the sfc scan again, then restart and run the scan again it may be able to fix all the other system file problems, usually it takes three tries with restarts after each scan.

Don't worry about the log file.
