    No WiFi capabilities :/

After realising that i have a lot of junk installed on my computer, i was advised to uninstall these useless programs with another program called 'revo uninstaller'. i got the free version and began to delete any programs which were causing me problems(popups etc.) after a reboot of the computer, i noticed that i wasnt connected to the internet. in fact, there was no option to connect via WiFi, only via Ethernet. on a 'help and tips' page from windows, entered "netsh wlan show profiles" into command line, which was supposed to tell me all WiFi networks which were stored on the computer, however it returned the message "There is no wireless interface on the system" is there any way of fixing this? any help would be much appreciated!!!

Reinstall the drivers for your wireless card. If you don't already have them on a disk, you may have to use a wired connection to download them. Or download them on another PC and transfer them on a thumb drive or other portable media. Another option is to use system restore to go back to before you ran that utility to remove junk.

It depends on who made your WIFI adapter. If its a laptop and its built in, go to the laptop manufacturers web site and look for the drivers listed for your make and model. If it's a USB dongle or plug in card you go to the manufacturer of that device, say D-Link, Netgear, or Linksys.

Have you checked in device manager to see if the wifi card is even recognized? Also have a look at your function keys to see if there is one that turns the wifi card on and off. It is usually F2 or F3 and may look like a small tower or dot with waves coming from it. Something like this (((^))) or this (((.))) Holding the Fn key and pressing the proper function key will toggle the wifi off and on.

Sorry if I am suggesting things you have already tried but sometimes we overlook the simple stuff. Have you checked that the wifi is enabled in the OS? From the start screen search "wifi". Select "settings" and look for "turn wireless communication on and off." Select it and make sure wifi is enabled on the right side of the screen. If not move the slider to enable. Make sure to post back when you get it resolved so that it may help others in the future.
