Can't access network properties, can't connect to network

Hello, I just receive my new desktop with a brand new windows 8, after I successfully installed and activated windows it seems I can't connect to my network neither access its properties. I am actually using my phone as a wifi adaptor through easytether and I already tried to (re)install different driver for my Ethernet card but it makes no difference. I don't think easytether could be the cause but I can't connect to any bank website, facebook, hotmail, I can't download and install google chrome and I can't use windows update (I though it could have fix few of the issues). I don't know if I posted this thread in the right place since so many things are malfunctioning but I'll be glad to have a bit of help here. cheers

If you can post a screen shot of the ipconfig/all from this machine it would be most helpful.

Sorry for the late reply, here is the screen shot of the ipconfig. I forgot to mention that my version of windows has been buy in France and I didn't manage to download the English language pack but you should be able to understand.Click image for larger version

Your phones IP address is 192.168.117.1 ? , that appears to be a local IP address instead of a WAN address , could it be the phone isn't getting a proper VPN connection..maybe thats how easytether works..I can't find any details about how the program works.

One thing the web site does say about being unable to connect to web sites is the following...

    1. Disable any other LAN and/or a WiFi connections on your computer before connecting via EasyTether.

The IP address looks valid, is this from the Windows 8 machine?

Are the network properties not opening?

What type of modem and router do you have?

Ok it is a dsl modem "home hub 3.0 settings type a". I am not sure it is what you wanna know.
I've tried to deactivate all my connections without difference, anyway I'd like to be able to use internet without my phone.
About the network properties, I can see all the network available on the right pannel but they don't appear in the control pannel in which you can access to the network settings.
Do you think windows 8 hasn't been properly installed considering that both computer and OS are brand new?
