Wifi is extremely slow please help!

I just bought this computer a few days ago. It is a Toshiba Satellite C885D-S5116. I'm not sure what router i have. But please help, I've tried searching for multiple things to speed up the wifi some how, but i feel like it actually made it worse. On my windows 7 laptop i could actually get like 10 mbps download speed, but now when i did a speed test i've gotten as low as .2 mbps and 70+ ping... I seriously don't know what to do anymore. My wireless adapter is a Realtek RTL8188CE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC. Whenever i try to update my driver, it doesn't seem to help at all saying its already the most updated. I have tried switiching to high energy performance battery. I have tried everything even trying to troubleshoot.

I have even tried ipconfig /flushdns in Cmd prompt. In cmd prompt i have also tried "netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=disabled". I don't know what else to try anymore. I am totally out of options, and with speeds @ .2 mbps, this will definitely not work out. Someone please help!

What's even worse is when i try to watch even youtube videos it automatically puts me on 144p and then even @ 144p it has to buffer....

*Also i think this is a windows 8 Home edition

uninstall the wifi driver and let windows reinstall a default driver

After you uninstall from device manager, click on the action tab on top and select scan for hardware changes

Thank you for the answer, BUT i have already tried this, and just to be on the safe side i even just tried it again. The current adapter is the one that it came with. After doing that and letting it scan for a change it put the exact same one back. I went to speedtest.net to test and currently i have .9 mbps download.. which is less than 1mbps (extremely slow sadly). Any other ideas? Because i really don't know what to do

Are you sure the model number is C885D because the only models showing at the Toshiba site are for C855D and there is another set of numbers on the end of that which are required in order to see if there are any new drivers for your laptop.

If this is a new laptop with factory installed bloatware and trial versions of anti virus software you will want to uninstall those completely from your system. This can take considerable time but often times will fix these types of problems.

Thank you for trying to help! I forgot to put the numbers found. I updated the numbers at the end and it is C855D-S5116. And yes this did come with a trial version antivirus,(Norton 30 days), but also what else should i do? Bloatware? What is considered bloatware that i should delete?

It would probably be a good idea to, but no i haven't. Is there still anyway to do something about this issue wireless though. It would be really bothersome to have to be connected with a wire fully. I also believe this is a wireless issue, because with my other laptop with windows 7, it had fine connection wireless.

Untill you won't assure yourself that this is not ISP/ADSL/crapware connection issue, no.
You are talking about this windows 7 working in the past, but what about now?
the wire is for testing purposes to exclude other issues ... anyway it's up to you

You should uninstall the Norton A/V using the special tool designed for the job.
    https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/...home&version=1

After that you should use a wired connection to update your system via the Windows Update Center. I say this because your wireless is not presently up to the task.

According to the Toshiba support site there are no updated drivers available for you model number so the Windows Update Center is your best bet to update your system.

You didn't mention which router you were using but updating the firmware on the router is another possible fix for this problem.

The reason we want you to try direct wire to your router is to determine if the problem is the router/isp or you computer/wifi.

If one works and not the other then we know where to concentrate our efforts.
