Wifi card troubles

Hey Guys

I have a new laptop recently it's a HP Pavilion G6 2253SA I have linked the model to the specs page if you need to look at the specs

I love everything about it except for one thing... The Wifi Card

It's horrific and seems to miserably fail at staying connected to the router. It's a Railink RT5390 wifi card and I have made sure that the latest driver is installed for it but it fails to stay connected to the router and when it disconnects, It stops picking up nearby routers and even if you turn the WiFi device off and on it still fails to pick up any nearby routers and the only way I can make it find any routers is to restart the laptop and it works again for another couple of hours before it disconnects and cant find any routers.

I did a little research on this and found an article on HP's website with the exact same problem as me and has over 50K views on this article

This is the article - Ralink RT5390 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter will not stay connect... - HP Support Forum - 1507047

I do have a plan to fix this problem by replacing the wifi card in this machine but I don't know if there are different types of wifi cards for notebooks or if any wifi card will fit

The wifi card I found and want to swap my current one for is a Realtek RTL8191SE which was the Wifi card in my own laptop and it worked flawlessly

To summarise my questions are

What is wrong with my current Wifi card?
do all wifi cards for notebooks fit the same port?
Will I be able to swap my current wifi card for my realtek one?

Try this.. goto device manager find your wireless card in network adapters

uninstall your wireless card

on top click the action tab, then scan for hardware changes.

now browse the web without updating the drivers..

Thank you for replying but I have actually tried this method and the problem I have is that Windows 8 does not have a native driver for my laptop so once the driver is uninstalled I have to reinstall the driver if I want to connect to the internet

First, check power saving settings for the card, it might be that it's shutting off after a period of inactivity. If you are going to change WiFi card make sure it is of same frequency and is 802,11b/g/n compatible with your rooter or AP. Also give a thought to a USB WiFi stick as they are much more versatile and could be placed at better position to catch signal better. I have real good experience with TP-Link TL-WN722nc. It has a detachable antenna which could be replaced with bigger one if need be for greater range.

If the above does not work, try using TENDA drivers, they use the railink chipset

If Tenda drivers are no better, try download slimdrivers it will find the most current drivers for your chipset.

The latest drivers ive seen for your railink RT5390 has a date of 04-12-2013 which I planned to link but misplaced.
