    remote desktop woes

    Hi Folks
Trying to setup remote desktop for the first time in a few years. 2 win 8 machines, with a lot of farting about I can see both machines in the network, I've set write permissions and can access files and folders, I can get to the login prompt and even jumped through all the hoops here:
Add a user account to a group

I have set windows firewall too.

When I try to login and get a windows security box saying my credentials did not work. It asks me to login using my microsoft account. The account I login to both PCs with - so I know the password is correct. I try to use another account (both accounts on both computers use same username and password), and it still rejects it.

Logmein took like 5 minutes to setup. I've been at this for hours

    Well I read this
I am having issues trying to set up remote desktop, my credentials are - Microsoft Community

And found that because one PC was on a local account, and one on a online one they wouldn't connect.

Now that I have set the 2nd PC up as an online account I can no longer access files or folders. can anyone help with this?
