Windows 8 drops internet

I have Windows 8 X64 and have a motorola modem with belkin n750 router. When I set it up the router light was solid blue and all modems lights worked. I had the internet working perfectly. My problem was when I went to sleep or turned off the computer. When I tried to turn it back on the internet would work sometimes and other times it would say no internet connection. If I unplugged the router and just connected the modem to the computer I got a connection again. I even tried router management which did not help. I finally found something on the windows website that fixed it but forgot what it was, some kind of troubleshooter. I think I read somewhere that belkin router management is not compatible with windows 8. Right now I can get the internet wired but no router. Does anybody have any ideas what is causing this?

I would require the model number of your Motorola modem to make sure it's just a modem and not a modem/router.

WiFi adapter in your computer is disabled.

In laptops, usually there is a function key for that somewhere in F2 to F12 key.

It sounds like a router problem, have you tried updating the firmware on the router?

I am pretty sure it is a problem with the router but don't think the router is bad. I do have the latest firmware as well.

If you can post a screen shot of the ipconfig/all from this machine it would be helpful. :)

I am not sure, but I think the router is dead. I have had nothing but trouble from Belkin routers so I bought a different brand and all is well now. Thanks anyhow.
