Hello everyone. It's been a long time since i been on these forums since SevenForums.
Anyways, I plan to get a Macbook Pro Retina (Dual boot with Windows 8 or 7) and i also plan to get a new
router for better performance in gaming (xbox) and other uses that use alot of bandwith and an external storage.
Question is, i want to have a good external storage so i can have my files like pictures, music, documents, video clips and more files to backup. And i want to know, is it possible and if so, how can i use the OCZ Vertex 4 SSD 128GB and Netgear Router N900 together so i can use it to share data with a desktop with Windows 8 and a Macbook Pro Retina that is dual booting with Windows 8 and OS X Mountain Lion (please don't bash me for having a macbook).
So the point is, router + ssd = external network storage.
Also, the router i am getting is much better because i do online gaming alot. So my current one is dying slow on me.

Any tips? Suggestions? Products you prefer?

Thanks in advance :D

You just simply right click on it and share it with "everyone" on your home network with full permissions. It can be done on any PC and even external hard drives connected to a pc.

Or if you are getting a new router, most new router have USB network share capabilities. Just plug in an external hard drive and it can be accessed by any PC/laptop within your network.

Sounds easy because the current router i have sucks. I wouldn't recognize it instantly and had problems trying so i gave up. But also would the ssd still be faster than using a hdd through network storage sharing? Or would you recommend using a normal hdd?
