had troubles running Xerox workcentre 3119 laser printer on homegroup. I thought to connect it straight to my router modem and run it as a network printer, thus bypassing homegroup altogether (am I right?). This printer does not have an ethernet slot. I tried plugging the printer's usb cord straight into the router modem, but it didn't print even after reinstalling it.
how do I wire this printer straight into the router modem, so it will work as a network printer? Do I need an adaptor and an ethernet cable? If so, what type of adaptor should I get?
