    Wireless adapter Windows 8 incompatability?

I just got a computer that comes with Windows 8 and I'm trying to get on the internet with the wireless adapter I was using on the old computer but I keep getting an error message. I am able to install it from the disc but when I go to run the program it says "Can't load ProcNICs.dll" This is the adapter I am using (version 4). The most recent driver the website lists for this adapter is for Vista. Is there a way to get this to work?

You may have some luck installing the drivers using one of the various compatiblity mode's in Windows.

Highly recommend the D-Link DWA-130 USB wireless adaptor, you can get them at Amazon for next to nothing. I was getting 300Mbps with this one until I upgraded to 802.11ac.

Wireless G? I don't think linksys will ever write a new update to that. You can buy a wireless N USB dongle between $10 & $15 bucks.

I tried Troubleshoot Compatibility but it still keeps giving me the "Can't load ProcNICs.dll" error message.

If I get a new usb adapter does it matter what kind of router I have?

Any decent wireless router that can handle wireless N should be fine. Not sure about the error message.

Most wireless N adapters are backwards compatible. Check the specs for b/g/n compatibility. It should say in the box.
