    Syncing Windows 8

I have a new Windows 8 desktop and laptop. I would like to sync the two. What is the best and simpliest way to do so. Thank you for your time

Welcome. I am assuming you are talking about your data files only. Well, just call me old, old fashioned. I've never liked, nor completely trusted, syncing programs whether used manually or automatically. I sync via copy/paste over gigabit ethernet (or wirelessly depending on quantity). Generally, I am aware of what I have changed/created recently on a given machine since I don't change/create much on a given day--so I just update the changed/created files as needed using copy/paste. I am sure you will get many recommendations about syncing programs.

If you go to the search ( the magnifying glass ) search for sync you will find 3 ( my computer anyway ) in settings there is several settings the you can sync . I personally like the syncing of Internet explorer favorites, there is also a power toy for syncing if your computers are on the same network syncing of favorites is instant if not then one of the settings at the bottom of the list is set wrong

Sync toy works well for this.

Download SyncToy 2.1 from Official Microsoft Download Center

You might want to check this post out: Sync, Backup and Store your Files to the Cloud with Skydrive - Windows 7 Help Forums It involves both SyncToy 2 and SkyDrive. I use SkyDrive but haven't looked into the SyncToy portion yet. I have however used SyncToy as well.

    Good luck.
