My network is being used, but I don't know what it is. Looks like there is something hogging the network. I've checked windows update, but windows update were not downloading any update. Im not sure, maybe virus or malware. Done full computer scan with Bitdefender Total Security 2013 but nothing had been found. Hope someone could help me. My specs - Acer Aspire V3 471G, Win 8 64 bit, 6GB Ram, 750GB HD. That's all. Any help would be appreciated. Please excuse my english as english not my native tongue :D.

Are we talking about a wireless network? Are you using WPA2 to secure the network? I recommend you use this approach.

I would try WPA2-PSK, although I definitely am not sure that your problem is coming from outside. Note that my understanding is that, for some reason, some Win8 wireless networks are slowed download-wise if WPA2 is not used.

I would also like to add, turn off your SSID broadcast signal. If it cant be seen then less likely to be hacked or piggy backed.
