Network Windows 8 and Windows XP Machines
I've done some due diligence on this and have found articles saying here's the secret to networking 7 or 8 to XP and others saying you can't.
What IS the truth on this? I have an XP laptop I want to network to my windows 8 laptop. Obviously it will be LOTS easier to move files over that way.
I can get my XP machine icon to show up but can't log in using valid credentials that do work on the XP machine.
Wassup?

Here's a good "how to":
Share Files and Printers between Windows 7 and XP
~update~
I've set up a hybrid home office network with rigs running Win8, Win7 and WinXP. I just had to put all in the same workgroup and set up accounts with the same username and password in each of them.
